Teesside University is a public university with its main campus in Middlesbrough, North Yorkshire in North East England. It has over 21,000 students studying in the UK, according to the 2020/21 HESA student record.
A shortage of funding long proved a barrier to developing the Middlesbrough-based Mechanics' Institute of 1844. With the required funding, the College's launch could have come as early as 1914. Even after the donation of £40,000 to build the college from local shipping magnate Joseph Constantine in 1916, progress was slow. A Governing Council took place in 1922, followed by a doubling of the original financial offer by the Constantine family in 1924. For the task of constructing the first technical college building, Graham R. Dawbarn (a London architect also responsible for additions to Corpus Christi College, Cambridge) was appointed on 29 March 1926. Building work began in 1927, culminating in the beginning of enrolment and teaching on 16 September 1929.

This prestigious scholarship recognises applications from outstanding students who can demonstrate their skills and commitment to becoming future global leaders.

There are up to 30 Vice-Chancellor's Scholarships available, of GBP5,000 each, allocated as a fee waiver in the first year of study.

The scholarships are designed to assist international students, enrolling in January 2024 for the first time at Teesside University, to study an undergraduate degree or postgraduate taught degree.

Students Eligible for the IELTS waivers will have to take the TUELT. PTE home based Not accepted. 75% in English from CBSE or Maharashta board get an IELTS waiver and does not have to appear for TUELT as well.

Deans International Scholarships

Teesside University offers a range of scholarships for eligible international students who demonstrate academic excellence in their application. The aim of these scholarships is to support students who receive the highest grades prior to joining the University.

The Scholarship value is GBP2,000 in your first full academic year of study (all successful applicants on a foundation, undergraduate or postgraduate programme). Applicants on a foundation/pathway programme delivered at Teesside University International Study Centre are not eligible for the scholarship, but will be considered for the scholarship on progression to a full degree programme at Teesside University.

Global Excellence Scholarships

If you are an undergraduate international fee-paying student at Teesside University and wish to progress to postgraduate study, or if you complete a master's with us and progress a new postgraduate programme, you are eligible for a GBP1,000 alumni scholarship. You will only receive the bonus if you apply directly to us and don't use an agent and the GBP1,000 is awarded as a discount on your first-year fees for the next programme.
