Music plays an important role at Royal Holloway. Our scholarships will give you the chance to showcase your talents, play alongside other skilled performers and work with external music groups, as well as a cash award to help finance your time at university. 

You do not need to be studying a music degree to qualify for a music scholarship.

We have different scholarships available depending on your focus as a singer, instrumentalist, musician or organist.

One scholarship is available to a new postgraduate student with home or international fee status. It provides a tuition fee reduction, with any remaining funds provided as a contribution to living costs (where applicable). 

Dr Pirkko Koppinen Scholarship

One scholarship is available to a full-time or part-time student with Home or International fee status, studying MA Holocaust Studies.

The scholarship is named in honour of Professor David Cesarani OBE, who died in 2015. Professor Cesarani was an integral part of the Holocaust Research Institute and one of the world's foremost authorities on Jewish history and the Holocaust.

Health Studies Community Impact Scholarship

Bradley de Glehn Philosophy Scholarship

One scholarship is available to a full-time or part-time student with Home or International fee status, studying one of the courses listed below. 

The scholarship was set up in memory of Professor Mike Walker OBE, a name synonymous with the Information Security Group (ISG) at Royal Holloway. 

Professor Walker joined Royal Holloway in 1966 and he successfully completed his BSc in Mathematics, before becoming the second PhD student to be supervised by Professor Fred Piper, who founded the ISG. He obtained his PhD in 1973.

Throughout his career in industry, Professor Walker maintained his keen interest for academic research and for many years he held the Vodafone chair as Professor of Telecommunications at Royal Holloway, as part of the ISG. In 2002, Professor Walker was instrumental in founding the ISG Smart Card Centre which continues today.

This scholarship is provided as a tuition fee reduction. If your course fee is less than GBP12,000, only the fee will be covered (no additional cash award will be made). 

The Professor Mike Walker OBE Scholarship

Three scholarships are available for full or part-time students with home or international fee status.

The scholarships are are funded by the alumni and friends of Bedford College, one of the founding colleges of Royal Holloway and Bedford New College. Formed in 2013, the Bedford Society aims to ensure the spirit of Bedford College lives on by providing new scholars with access to financial support and opportunities for networking.

One scholarship is available for a new full-time or part-time student with Home or International fee status studying for a first taught Masters degree within one of the academic departments listed below.

One scholarship and bursary is available to new eligible undergraduates in any subject.

Five scholarships are available for new undergraduate students studying for a single or joint honours degree in the Department of English (see the full list of eligible courses below).

The Barbara Raw Scholarship is named in honour of a former Royal Holloway student and rewards high-achieving students.

Barbara Raw Scholarships for English

The scholarship is provided automatically to eligible students on one of the Masters courses within the Department of Computer Science.

Eligible Indian nationals who are domiciled in India (living in India at the point of application) will receive a GBP4,000 tuition fee reduction. All other eligible international students will receive a GBP2,000 tuition fee reduction.

Achieved a First Class Honours degree in a technical subject.

Computer Science Scholarship

There are 64 scholarships available to new full-time and part-time students studying taught Masters degrees in any subject.

Royal Holloway Principal's Masters Scholarship

Ten scholarships are available for students progressing on to a Royal Holloway undergraduate degree. Successful applicants can combine their scholarship with a 10% progression fee discount which is available to all progressing RHISC students.

Royal Holloway International Study Centre (RHISC) Excellence scholarship

We offer a number of Computer Science scholarships, named after eminent computer scientist Donald Davies.

Donald Davies Computer Science Scholarship

Cash award of GBP1,000 in first year, followed by GBP500 in second, third and fourth years (if applicable)

Two scholarships are available for a new undergraduate with Home or International fee status. 

The scholarship is named in honour of former Bedford College Mathematics academic Dr Geoffrey Kneebone, and was founded by two of his former students. 

The scholarship is offered as a GBP1,000 tuition fee reduction for the first year of study for full-time students.
