The Courtauld Institute of Arts was established in 1932. The founder of this institute was Samuel Courtauld who along with the contribution of Sir Robert Witt and Viscount Lee of Fareham opened this college. Being one of the first history colleges in United Kingdom, the Courtauld Institute of Arts bolsters the roots of history and art subjects in tertiary education. These days, Courtauld Institute of Art is an independent and renowned college of the University of London. And the world's leading institute for imparting education in the fields of the history, art and architecture. Facts: 1. With 94% of student satisfaction, this college secured rank 4th in the UK for overall course satisfaction in the National Student Survey (NSS National Student Survey (NSS). 2. About

On-campus facilities: The Duchy House in Central London, capacity for 64 students. Rooms are provided here on the priority basis to the international and first-year BA students. It has: 1. 17 rooms in sharing with other students and 47 en suite rooms well- furnished with a bed, study desk, wardrobe, bookshelf, lamps, notice board and a mini fridge. 2. Free Wi-Fi facility in rooms. 3. A kitchen on every floor with a microwave, refrigerator and gas or electric cooker. 4. Laundry facilities. 5. Vacuum cleaners on every floor Off-campus facilities: Intercollegiate Halls at the University of London: Single rooms as well as rooms in sharing are available. You would get breakfast and dinner with some kitchen equipment. Laundry services are also included in the rent. International Students House (ISH) is also a great option with single bedrooms and shared bedrooms. It also has single en-suite rooms.

Location

Generally, the weather of London remains cool throughout the year. That’s why summers here are short and quite comfortable. Sometimes partly cloudy. But winters are long, freezing, windy and commonly cloudy. Temperature ranges between 39-74°F on an average and it is very rare phenomenon to see the rise in mercury. The favorable time of year to explore London with friends is late June to early September for outdoor activities.
Since winters are prolonged here, we suggest you to carry more warm clothes with you while heading to The Courtauld.
