The University of Massachusetts was established in the year 1852 and is one of the top research universities in the world. It is also known as UMass Boston and earlier it was known as Boston State College. With 1240 undergraduate students, the freshman classes started in 1968.

The application procedure is as follows -:

1. The student selects the program of his/her choice and fill up the application form available on their website. 
2. Then the Umass Boston GSSP either issues acceptance or denial. If accepted, provides an offer letter, ask for f documents and other necessities 
3. Student then pays the deposits, sends a signed offer letter, provides all documents. 
4.Student emails complete DCF forms, bank statements, and any other requested information to admissions. 
5.Visa interview happens. 
6.Students plan their pre-arrival and reach for orientation after completing all the procedures. 
7. Student pays the tuition fees.

The climate is of Boston is continental as the winters are very cold and snowy and the summers are hot with thunderstorms. 
Winters are from Dec to mid-march and are extremely cold. Frequent snowfalls occur which sometimes results in snowstorms. Spring occurs from mid-March to mid-June and the weather is unstable all the time. Summers occur from mid-June to August which are extremely warm and humid.
