Established in&nbsp;1967, the&nbsp;Algonquin College of Applied Arts and Technology&nbsp;is an open institute that is associated with the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association, the Canadian Bureau for International Association, and Polytechnics Canada. The institute was developed during the establishment of Ontario&#39;s College system in 1967. The founding institutions were opened in 1957, namely the Eastern Ontario Institute of Technology and the Ontario Vocational Centre Ottawa.

	<li>The institute is in&nbsp;partnership&nbsp;with some well-known organizations and universities like Carleton University, the University of Ottawa, and Shopify.</li>

About

AC has three campuses in the Ontario region. Woodroffe Campus in Ottawa is the main campus, and the other two satellite campuses in the Ontario region are Pembroke and Perth. Each campus offers a variety of programs.

There is a student Associations group on the campus itself which&nbsp;is an elected group of individuals who represent student interests at Algonquin. The SA is responsible for:

	<li>managing The Observatory, one of the lounges on the Woodroffe Campus, and The Landing student lounge on the Pembroke&nbsp;Campus</li>

Campus

Algonquin College is one of the most sought-after Canadian colleges for international students. Thus, the difficulty level remains a bit on the higher side when it comes to admissions. The college advises applicants to apply as early as possible for enhancing admission chances.

In 2019, the college admitted over 19,000 students across all its programs. Out of this, more than 4,000 were international students from over 130 countries. The college is also involved in international projects in countries like India, China, Kuwait, Kenya, Dominica, St. Lucia, and Montenegro. Thus, AC welcomes students from all ethnic and cultural backgrounds that makes the college a multi-cultural and diverse community.

Conclusion

Algonquin confers six international student scholarships and one leadership award to international students at the end of each academic year. The scholarships are merit-based, and are awarded to students showcasing outstanding academic achievement (minimum GPA of 3.6) one award is issued for exceptional student leadership. Financial Aid

Ottawa, the city, capital of&nbsp;Canada, is located in southeastern&nbsp;Ontario. In the eastern extreme of the province, Ottawa is situated on the south bank of the&nbsp;Ottawa River&nbsp;across from&nbsp;Gatineau,&nbsp;Quebec, at the&nbsp;confluence&nbsp;of the Ottawa (Outaouais),&nbsp;Gatineau, and Rideau rivers.&nbsp;

	<li>In Ottawa, the summers are long, warm, and partly cloudy and the winters are freezing, snowy, and mostly cloudy. Over the course of the year, the temperature typically varies&nbsp;from 6&deg;F to 80&deg;F&nbsp;and is rarely below -13&deg;F or above 88&deg;F.</li>

Placements

Ottawa lies farther north than Toronto, resulting in significantly colder winters.

Unlike many of Ontario&rsquo;s cities, Ottawa does not sit on the shores of Lake Ontario. This results in higher summer temperatures in Ottawa but increases the harshness of the winters.

	<li>Ottawa has a semi-continental climate, with a warm, humid summer and a very cold winter.</li>
	<li>Winters in Ottawa are severe. Snow depths of greater than 1 cm are seen on about 120 days each year compared with about 65 days in&nbsp;Toronto. Much greater depths of snow are also found in Ottawa than in Toronto.</li>
</ul>

Ottawa, like other cities in Ontario, enjoys a sunny climate. Summers usually have a generous number of warm or hot sunny days.
