Established in 1930, Donetsk National Medical University was initially known as M. Gorky Donetsk National Medical University. It is a medical institution, and the largest university in Ukraine. The university began its classes with only 207 students at first. During 1936 it got 836 students and since then there was a steep uphill in enrolment 
numbers. 
This institution got the status of university in the year 1994 and later on in the year 2008, it got the status of National Medical University. The research faculty is well known for its publishing of over 100 journals related to science.

On-campus facilities: Hostel facility is available at the university. The campus has 9 hostels which can fully accommodate 4,360 students. The rooms are fully furnished with recreation centre nearby. Living at the hostel would be, for sure, a life time experience where you would live among new friends from places all over the world, learning about their culture and also sharings yours with them. Every room has an attached kitchen, and so if you love cooking, you can definitely grab a griddle and a pan and cook away! The rooms are equipped with heaters and the hostles have proper relaxation areas. Off-campus facilities: There are several flats available near the university for off-campus accommodation.The room sizes vary and the flats are fully furnished with the basic facilities. The stores for daily needs are all around the city and you can easily get your essentials.

The Donetsk National Medical University is a fairly good instituion. We would advise you to go for this 
place as it offers a large number of ug and pg courses. Anually 2000 international student are
enrolled. This institution helps the one in finding out his or her true skills and ability.  
The university also has excellent rating by the QAS. Thus, if you are a history geek, you

No. of campuses: 3 Facilities: DNMU has all the top-notch facilities for the students. The university has 7 working hospitals under it. These serve as a clinical base for the scientific work. Several scientific and research laboratories are all over the campus. Apart from knowledge, you also need the support and facilities to keep you on the go. Keeping this in mind, the college proides a campus which has 9 hostels, 13 academic buildings, 37 computer labs, reading halls, sports room and several libraries. There are 8 major faculties looking for the campuses. Campus safety: DNMU's campus is constantly patrolled by the security and is safe. The overall region is safe and stable. We recommend you to be cautious and alert all the time during the outings.

Place description: Donetsk is and industrial city and historically it was also a economic and cultural city. Despite going through the ravages of the war, the city got modernised. A history geek would surely fall in love with this place as it is full of cultural attractions that of theatres, museums, art galleries. Whether it is the First Line Avenue which is marked as the main part of the city or the Donetsk Opera and Ballet theatre, this city never fails in mesmerizing the soul. Important landmarks/places nearby: 1. Monument to Taras Shevchenko of historical significance. 2. Царь-пушка. It is a historical landmark exhibiting ancient guns. 3. Памятник Ленину (Historical Landmark) 4. Osvobodytelyam Donbassa. 5. Khrest "Khachkar" Pam'yati Henotsydu Virmen. It is an ancient temple. Crime rate: Crime rate is can say moderate to high in the city. It is about 65%. One should be alert all the time and not to mention precautions should be taken. Although campus is safe but still city crime can't be ignored. Student are advise not to indulge themselves in activities which encourages trouble. Nearby Airports: РЛС Донецкого аэропорта is the only airport advised by the college to be used. Regular flights fly to various destinations. The airport is about 50 mins away from campus.
