The Dresden International University, or DIU for short, is a Dresden based private university. With an urban setting and state-of-the-art facilities, DIU believes in sustainably and successfully introducing their students to the professional field of their studies. DIU as we know it was founded in 2003, in place of its predecessor, TU Dresden. The university is affiliated with University of Excellence TU Dresden and currently has students from 33 countries around the world. With both part-time and full-time courses, the students can look forward to fulfilling careers with the education provided at DIU.

	<li>Even though DIU offers a wide range of programs, six PG programs are offered to international applicants. Some of these are: Logistics (MBA), Non-Destructive testing (M.Sc.), Preventive Medicine (M.Sc.) and Clinical Research (M.Sc.)</li>

About

On-campus facilities: There are many student accommodation options available to all the students studying at DIU. The hostel is located at Dresden-Strehlen, Hildebrandstraße 7, about 25 minutes away from the campus and easily reachable by bus. All the 225 apartments offer basic amenities and the rent includes the cost of utility bills.The Student Hotel at Prager Straße in Dresden offers rooms to DIU students at reduced prices. There is also an international guest which offers 310 rooms to DIU students. Off-campus facilities: The university offered accommodation rarely leaves any need to look for accommodation elsewhere. If students are looking for private accommodation, they would have to research on their own through websites or agents and make sure they know all their rights as tenants and the rules they need to follow. You can also contact student counsellors to get a clearer idea about acquiring private accommodation. Food facilities (Availability of vegetarian/Indian food): There is a cafeteria on-campus but sometimes you may crave some food like home. On those days, you wouldn't have to go far. Less than 10 minutes away are numerous indian restaurants. From Sher-e-Punjab to Krishna Indian Restaurant, you can choose where to go in search for food tasting like home.

Available scholarships and application procedure for Scholarships The university does not provide any internal scholarships to their students, whether they be local or international. According to the university, foreign students seeking financial aid can look through DAAD funding, link to which is given on the website. Facilities: The university provides all the necessary facilities their students would need with respect to their course. Many skill development and career counselling programs also take place throughout the year so that the students get some additional skills with their academic ones. With a fully-functioning cafeteria, there are also gymnasiums, art galleries, auditoriums and many other sports facilities that students can take advantage of.

After the 1990 German reunification, Dresden became&nbsp;one of Germany&#39;s important commercial and political centres. Dresden has a successful and growing IT industry and is a popular tourist spot.

If you live near the campus, you don&#39;t have to worry about a long commute to the airport. Just 21 minutes away, the Dresden Airport is the perfect choice for both your domestic and international trips. This distance is from the campus location,, so it may vary depending on your residence.

Nearby Subways and train stations

When you are in Dresden, you will have two transportation options for your daily commute. Trams and buses. The nearest tram stops are less than five minutes away, and bus stops are about 10 minutes from the campus. You can choose the one that suits your needs and interests the best. Dresden Altburgst&auml;dtel and Dresden Lise-Meitner-Stra&szlig;e are the nearest bus stops, while Budapester Stra&szlig;e, Hp. Freiberger Stra&szlig;e and Dresden S-Bf. Freiberger Stra&szlig;e is the nearest tram stop.

Location

Internships: There is no hard and fast rule when it comes to internships. Doing an internship depends entirely on the interest of the student. If the student shows interest in a particular company or job profile, their student counsellors would assist them to get in touch with the company. Student counsellors are available for providing advice and assistance throughout the course of your study at DIU.

Placements

Dresden is splendid in warm weather. With comfortable and sunny summers, your outings and trips should be filled with fun. Winters are chilly and cloudy and oftentimes harsh. It snows as well although not extensively. The average temperature varies in the range from 29°F to 77°F. You can do more research to get to know Dresden's climate before moving.
