The Duquesne University of the Holy Spirit or Duquesne University for short is a private university located in the city of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. It was established in 1848 by the members of the Congregation of the Holy Spirit as the Pittsburgh Catholic College of the Holy Ghost. It became the first Catholic higher-education institution in Pennsylvania. Today, Duquesne is the only Spiritan higher education institution in the world.

Its initial batch of students was 40 in number and now the numbers have increased to over 9,300. The university currently has students from over 80 countries around the world and also has an associate campus in Rome.

On-Campus Accommodation

Students enrolled in the first and second years of the undergraduate programs must stay on campus during their studies.

	<li>At Duquesne, the dormitories or living spaces are called Living Learning Centers.</li>

The Pittsburgh International Airport is the nearest airport to the DU campus. For both domestic and international flights, you can come to the Pittsburgh International Airport in just half an hour by car.

There are numerous subway stations located in the campus vicinity but only two are a 5 minute drive away. First Avenue Station and Steel Plaza Station are two good options you can choose from. The nearest bus stop is W Carson St + Duquesne Incline, located 7 minutes away from campus
