Goldsmiths' earlier name was Goldsmiths' Technical and Recreative Institute which was established in 1891. It became a part of the University of London in 1904 under the name Goldsmiths' College.

Like the University of London affiliated colleges, this one also provides a lot of financial help to you in form of scholarships, grants, bursaries, etc some of which are as follows:
1. GREAT Scholarships 2021- China and India. This Scholarship is for students from these countries and students are offered upto £10000 in the form of fee waivers. You have to fill the application form to be considered for this scholarship.
2. Goldsmiths International Scholarships- The Scholarship amount rangers from £2000 - £5000 for international students. The students need to submit the application form to be considered for the scholarship.
