Long Island University is a private university in Brooklyn. It was established in the year 1926. 1n 1929, the university affiliated itself with the Brooklyn College of Pharmacy. In late 1960s it was proposed to sell Brooklyn Campus to finance other graduate campus, but it did not get any place in reality owing to the protests conducted by students and teachers.

General Information
Scholarships provided at Long Island University:
- Admissions Merit Awards: based on HS average, GPA, and/or SAT/ACT scores, renewable annually, available to first-year and transfer students
- Alumni and Sibling Scholarships: renewable annually, available to first-year students
- LIU Post/Long Island Arts Alliance Scholar-Artist Scholarship: Entering full-time freshman who have been designated as "Long Island Arts Alliance Scholar-Artists" are eligible for consideration for a 40,000 USD scholarship to LIU Post, payable 10,000 USD annually for four years of full-time study. Scholarship is for undergraduate study only and is based on availability of funds. Students must be enrolled full-time and achieve a GPA of 3.0 or above each semester to maintain eligibility.
