In 2009, MacEwan University became Alberta's sixth university that serves as one of the largest post-secondary institutions in the province of Alberta. 2. MacEwan University offers around 10 bachelor degree programs with around 32 bachelor degree fields along with 2 transfer degree programs and one applied degree course. It also has around 40 diploma and certificate programs. 3. The MacEwan University has 4 faculties and 2 schools that offer courses of different fields including engineering, physical education, business, health and community studies, fine arts and communications, nursing, liberal arts and sciences, etc. 4. It also offers Programming courses and English-as-a-Second-Language courses for university preparation along with personal development courses and non-credit professional courses on a part-time basis. 5. The University has around 12,000 full-time students in credit programs with a student body that has around 60% female students.
