Overview
The University of Vermont was founded in 1791 and it is among the oldest universities in the United States. It was the fifth institution of higher education in the US, established in the New England region of the U.S. northeast.
Much of the initial funding and planning for the university was undertaken by Ira Allen, who is honoured as UVM's founder. The university first adopted an official seal in 1807.

General Information
UVM offers a variety of scholarships for out-of-state and international students.
Prospective, first-time, first-year undergraduate students are automatically considered for the Presidential Scholarship, and the Trustees Scholarship based on their application for admission.
The following scholarships are also there which require a separate application:-
- Army Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) Scholarships
- Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC) Scholarships
- ROTC National Room & Board Scholarship
