Place description

Located in northern Idaho, Moscow is the county seat and the largest city of Latah county. Over 60% of the county's population finds a home in Moscow. The town first saw immigration through the farmers and miners who settled in the town post Civil War. Previously called ‘Paradise Valley’, the town’s name was changed to Moscow in 1875.

Even today, the economy remains partially dependent on agriculture and commerce even through the University of Idaho remains the biggest employer.

Arboretum & Botanical Garden is located just 6 minutes from the campus and can be visited with your friends so that you can get to know Moscow better. Sunnyside Park and East City Park are also great places to visit if you are looking for a solitary walk or for a fun-filled day with friends. The Rose Creek Nature Preserve is also a popular destination you can go and see.

Pullman-Moscow Regional Airport, being just 12 minutes away is the nearest domestic airport to the campus location. To reach the nearest international airport, you would either have to fly to it or drive more than an hour to reach the Spokane International Airport.
