Overview
University of Liverpool was established in the year 1881 as University College Liverpool and started admissions in the year 1882.In 1884, it became a part of federal Victoria University. In 1903, following the Royal Charter and act of Parliament, it became an independent University.
In 1994, University became a founding member of the Russell Group. University has won ten Nobel prizes in the fields of science, medicine, economics and peace.
