The University of Minnesota, Twin Cities (the U of M or Minnesota) is a public land-grant research university in the Twin Cities of Minneapolis and Saint Paul, Minnesota. The Twin Cities campus comprises locations in Minneapolis and Falcon Heights, a suburb of St. Paul, approximately 3 miles (4.8 km) apart. The Twin Cities campus is the oldest and largest in the University of Minnesota system and has the ninth-largest main campus student body in the United States, with 51,327 students in 2019–20. It is the flagship institution of the University of Minnesota System, and is organized into 19 colleges, schools, and other major academic units.
The Minnesota Territorial Legislature drafted a charter for the U of M as a territorial university in 1851, seven years before Minnesota became a state. Today, the university is classified among "R1: Doctoral Universities – Very high research activity". Minnesota is a member of the Association of American Universities and is ranked 17th in research activity, with $954 million in research and development expenditures in the fiscal year 2018. In 2001, the University of Minnesota was included in a list of Public Ivy universities, which includes publicly funded universities thought to provide a quality of education comparable to that of the Ivy League.

On-Campus Accommodation&nbsp;

The institute encourages students to use the on-campus housing facilities, and around 90% of first-year students who choose to live on campus are accommodated.&nbsp; The 17th Avenue, Centennial, Sanford, Frontier, and other prominent resident halls are most popular with students.

Being a member of a fraternity or sorority is a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. Join the almost 3,000 students on campus who are involved in Greek life.

The Institution of Minnesota is a fantastic location to learn, meet new friends, become a scholar, and be a part of a lively community both within and outside of the university. It also offers access to the art and theatrical scenes in both the twin cities and on campus. Because it is so near to downtown, there are several internship and research possibilities with well-known firms as well as inside the institution. Large firms and other research universities hold the University of Minnesota in high regard. It also has a distinct culture and a lengthy history of cultivating intellectuals that is well worth investigating.

Professors at the institution are among the best in the country. Despite the huge class size, students manage to establish strong relationships with their lecturers, and professors still make time for students who come to them during office hours with questions.

Students can get financial assistance from the institution in the form of grants, student employment, loans, and academic scholarships to study in the United States. However, degree-seeking students are eligible for the majority of financial help. Certificate seekers and non-degree candidates have few options for assistance.

The campus is one of the largest of the University of Minnesota&#39;s five campuses and one of the largest in the United States. The campus, which welcomes over 50,000 students and has a 13 percent foreign student population, is a learning environment of a varied mix of cultures and races.

	<li>The Twin Cities campus is one of the safest in the country. The institution places a high value on safety. Throughout the campus, there are alarm buttons and emergency phones.</li>
	<li>Free campus connection shuttles are available to transport students across campus.</li>
	<li>Skyways, parking lots, and tunnels may be found all across campus, and they are all monitored by security cameras 24 hours a day.</li>
	<li>Non-remedial tutoring, placement services, a women&#39;s centre, day care, and health services are among the university&#39;s other student amenities.</li>
	<li>Museums such as the Weisman Art Museum and the Bell Museum of Natural History, among others, are located on campus.</li>

Although the University of Minnesota is a city unto itself (it has bars, caf&eacute;s, coffee shops, and everything! ), the twin cities of Minneapolis and St Paul also have a lot to offer. Students are only a short bus ride away from myriad time-wasting possibilities due to the college&#39;s proximity to Downtown. You may, of course, go hiking or take a bike trip around the lake. There&#39;s much to do in the Twin Cities, but there&#39;s not much else after you leave them. The closest &#39;large&#39; city is probably Kansas City, more than 400 miles distant.

Trasnporation&nbsp;

The Twin Cities campus is centered in one of the most bike-friendly cities in the nation. You can pedal your own wheels or hop on a Nice Ride or electric scooter.

Because the University of Minnesota is so well-known, the employment and internships available in the fields are outstanding. However, because there are so many career fairs, it&#39;s all about being excellent enough to stand out.

In Minneapolis, the summers are warm and wet; the winters are freezing, snowy, and windy; and it is partly cloudy year round. Over the course of the year, the temperature typically varies from&nbsp;9&deg;F&nbsp;to&nbsp;83&deg;F&nbsp;and is rarely below&nbsp;-11&deg;F&nbsp;or above&nbsp;92&deg;F.
