The University of Utah (U of U, UofU, or simply The U) is a public research university in Salt Lake City, Utah. It is the flagship institution of the Utah System of Higher Education.
As of Fall 2019, there were 24,485 undergraduate students and 8,333 graduate students, for an enrollment total of 32,818, making it the second largest public university in the state after Utah Valley University. Graduate studies include the S.J. Quinney College of Law and the School of Medicine, Utah's first medical school.

On-Campus Residence Accommodations

For students who wish to live on campus, the college offers a variety of housing alternatives. They provide housing facilities for undergraduate and graduate students that are distinct.

<ul>
	<li>Many of the college&#39;s students live on campus and take full advantage of the resources available. They provide a variety of on-campus and off-campus accommodation alternatives.</li>
	<li>The campus accommodation can accommodate about 14 per cent of all students (about 400).</li>
	<li>Students can choose from over 33 different types of accommodation options. Undergraduate students are not guaranteed to house.</li>
	<li>They provide private, two-person, and three-person accommodations.</li>
</ul>

Off-Campus Accommodations

The local area has various off-campus rental housing options, including single homes, duplexes, apartments and rooms for rent. Students wishing to live off-campus need to research available on their own and should arrive well before the start of term to do so.

Homestay

There are many homestay options available, and our partners do their best to match students and hosts according to their interests and preferences. Homestay hosts include single people, young couples with children and pets, and older couples. All homestay accommodations have been inspected, and all adults in the home have completed a required criminal reference check.

The university offers a generous amount of financial aid to international students in the form of merit-based, department-based scholarship and need-based scholarships to study in the USA. About 89% of students receive need-based awards of an average amount of 7,754 USD while nearly 13.4% of them receive merit-based scholarships. The nature provides annual awards of nearly 43,763 USD on an average. Some of the studentships available for international students are College of Engineering Scholarships, David Eccles School of Business Undergraduate Scholarships, International Student and Scholar Services Scholarships, among others, few of which are discussed in details as follows: <ul><li>International Student and Scholar Services Scholarships provide a scholarship award of 4,000 USD. The international undergraduate students are eligible for this scholarship. They must have a GPA of 3.5 minimum to be eligible.</li><li>David Eccles School of Business Undergraduate scholarships is also awarded on the basis of merit of the students. A minimum of GPA 3.2 is required to be eligible.</li></ul> Note that scholarships from other outside sources are also available and students can avail them as and when rewired.

Financial Aid

The U of U has a charming campus covering 1500 acres of land in Utah. There are two huge libraries namely the J. Willard Marriott and S. J. Quinney library which can help you with any information/knowledge that’s required. There are many buildings named after the past Presidents of the University. This place is called the Presidents Circle. A. Ray Olpin University Union’s primary student activity center also known as the Community Center of Campus is situated on the Campus. The business Program is taken by the David Eccles School of Business that’s also on the scenic beauty of the campus. The Health, Physical Education, Recreation Complex (HPER), and the Nielsen Fieldhouse are a part of the campus fitness centers.

The campus is huge with over 1500 acres of land in the capital of Utah, Salt Lake City. Salt Lake City is famous for many activities starting from Steel Refining, Mining to oil and gas-related schemes. Salt Lake City has a fair amount of Industrialization and yet away from all the buzz which makes it a calm and composed place to study in. But, it also has an amazing and vibrant urban atmosphere so that you don’t miss out on anything!

The university provides campus placements in the form of internships or jobs. Some of the top recruiters are – Google, Biofire, Overstock, Skullcandy, Salt Lake County and many more.The median starting salary of the University of Utah alumni is around 53,400 USD.

Placements

The weather here at Salt Lake City is pretty cold throughout the year. The most scorchy months are July and August and the freezing months are December, January, and February. Salt Lake City has its moments too! In 2002, Salt Lake City was the chosen venue for Winter Olympics held in February. We would definitely recommend the city if you love cold weather.
