History 
The University of Victoria, or UVic as it is popularly known, is a research university in Victoria, British Columbia. The university was established in 1903 as the Victoria College and was only reincorporated as the university in 1963. The oldest institution in British Columbia catering to higher education. The university has nine academic facilities and holds experience in providing quality education for over 60 years as Victoria College. A public research university, the University of Victoria hosts several research institutes.

More than 3,200 students are housed on-campus by the university, with options including single and double dorms, cluster housing, bachelor flats, and family accommodation.

The climate of the city of Victoria can be described as Mediterranean. With such climatic conditions, the summers in Victoria are warm and enjoyable whereas the winters remain cloudy and cool.
