In the Australian state of Western Australia, the Institution of Western Australia is a public research university. The university&#39;s main campus is in Perth, the state capital, with a secondary campus in Albany and other sites scattered throughout the state. 
It is Australia&#39;s sixth-oldest institution, and until the creation of Murdoch University in 1973, it was Western Australia&#39;s only university.
