The Australian Institute of Music (AIM) was founded by Peter Calvo in the year 1968. AIM is a music institute aimed to deliver courses and education in the Australian music, performing arts and entertainment industries. In these 52 years of the Institute, AIM has offered accredited undergraduate and postgraduate studies in contemporary performances, classical performance,musical theatre,theatre performance, composition and music production, audio engineering, acting,arts and entertainment. About

On-campus facilities: Both AIM campuses in Sydney and Melbourne are non-residential. AIM will recommend to students various accommodation providers however all students must organise their accommodation independently. Off-campus facilities: As AIM does not have a on-campus accomodation facility, it might be a little difficult for you to find a place in a new city or country, therefore, we at Azent have listed out a few services that are common among the students who want to stay nearby the campus. 1. Homestays: Homestays are a cultural exchange between a local individual or family, called a “Homestay Host”, and a visiting International Student who comes to live as a guest in their home while they are studying in Australia. The Host also provides the Student with all their basic needs, including their own room, food (if applicable) and space to study. In return, the Student pays a weekly fee. 2. Hostels: Hostels provide a friendly, supervised and safe environment for students. Many hostels also provide meals. 3. Shared Accommodation: Shared Accommodation allows students to have more freedom. Students can share a room, house or apartment depending on their budget. 4. Apartments or houses: This is a good option for students who want to live a more independent and private life. Studio (one-bedroom) apartments are more popular amongst students who choose this option because they are less expensive to rent compared to the larger apartments or houses.

Verdict

Alumni - Available for Alumni and/or their immediate family members once they have completed a Bachelors or Master degree at AIM. Financial Aid

Size of campus : Sydney Campus has 3 built theatre and performance halls including - John Painter Hall which has 270 seat capacity AIM Theatre 1 which has 80 sea capacity with full band set-up AIM Theatre 2 has 60 seat capacity with black box theatre. Melbourne Campus has- Peter Calvo Auditorium which as 200 seat capacity with all grand instrument settings. No. of campuses: 2 Facilities: The Sydney Campus has several facilities offering to the students such as providing performance spaces, private lesson studios, music production studios, ensemble rehearsal rooms,etc. The Melbourne Campus also has several facilities like providing students with individual private lesson studios,music production studios,ensemble rehersal rooms, also a world-class performance venue that is brand new. Campus safety: From the safety perspective, we recommend AIM as it takes all reasonable steps to ensure the safety, health and welfare of themselves and others, whether colleagues or students. Also, Sydney and Melbourne are known to be relatively safer than other places. Crime rate is comparatively lower too as AIM provides strict rules in regards to the safety of its students and staff members. Therefore, you can be assured that your stay here in AIM would not be of much difficulty as long as you go about following all the and rules and regulations.

There are around 62,000 Annual Live Music Events each year making the campus being situated in the heart of Australia's Live Music Capital. So, if you are a person who enjoys fickle yet mild, beautiful weather all over the year and wants a cool life with live music events every now and then, then Melbourne campus would be your perfect campus choice. If you are a person who enjoys the outdoor life, and oftens prefers going out for some picnics or outings, then Sydney campus would be your perfect destination.
