<p>Bangor University is a public-funded university located in the city of Bangor, Wales. The university was established in the year of 1884 as the University College of North Wales (UCNW). Within a year of establishment, the institution received its royal university charter in 1885. Thus along with Aberystwyth and Cardiff Colleges, it jointly became a founding member of the University of Wales in the year 1893.</p>

<p>Until&nbsp;the year 2007, the institution was known as the University of Wales, Bangor. But after the re-administration of the University of Wales as an independent,non-membership university, the institution parted its way. Thus changed its name and became the &quot;Bangor University&quot; in 2007.</p>

<h3><strong>On-Campus Accommodation</strong></h3>

<p>Bangor University offers on-campus accommodation to its students in the residential halls located in different regions, namely The Ffriddoedd Village, St. mary&#39;s village, College Road, and Private Halls. The Ffriddoedd Village is the largest residential facility of the university, comprising of more than 2,000 rooms and en-suite style accommodation. Accommodation to the first year students of the university is&nbsp;guranteed and compulsory.&nbsp;</p>

<h3><strong>Off-Campus Accommodation</strong></h3>

<p>If for any reason, the on-campus accommodation facility is not being provided to the students then they can go for the off-campus accommodation facility which the university allows. Students can rent any flat or apartment depending on their budget and interest. The average cost of an apartment ranges between &pound;600-700 per month. Students can also look for sharing the apartment with any of their fellow students. The residence places in the city are all at a convenient distance from the university.</p>

<p>In the university&#39;s campus and in&nbsp;almost every on-campus residence, the university has its own cafes, restaurants, bars, and shops.
