Durham University was founded in 1832 by an Act of Parliament. The university received the Royal Charter in 1837. This is the third-oldest university in England. The university is a member of the Russel Group of British research universities after becoming a member of the 1994 group. During its expansion phase, the university became the first English University to establish connections overseas.&nbsp;

The university is comprised of 17 colleges.

In 2005, the university presented a re-brand logotype and introduced the name Durham University. The official name of the university is the University of Durham.

Application Procedure

Durahm University has most of the colleges and academic departments in Durham City. It also has another campus named Queen Campus, Stockhom. Both the places are connected with a bus service, Elvet hill has 10 colleges and Mountjoy site contains the majority of departments and large lecture theatres. The Bailey contains the five colleges and the department of music and Theology. In 2020, two new colleges were opened in Mouunt Oswald.Durham University also has a library that holds over 1.5 million printed items. Apart from that, the university manages a number of museums.
