The Florida Institute of Technology, usually known as FIT or Florida Tech, is a Melbourne-based, privately-owned, non-profit research and doctoral university. In the year 1958, the university was founded as Brevard Engineering College to provide further support to NASA&#39;s organization. Dr. Jerome P. Keuper, who eventually became the university&#39;s first president, founded it. Nathan Bisk College of Business, College of Psychology &amp; College of Liberal Arts, College of Engineering and Science, College of Aeronautics, and Honors College are the university&#39;s five educational colleges. The College of Engineering is home to half of the university&#39;s student body.
