Great Plains College is a regional college in that provides post-secondary education in the western part of the province. It currently offers post-secondary certificate, diploma and degree programs — as well as university programming, skills and safety training, adult basic education and English language training - through campuses in Swift Current, Kindersley and Warman as well as program centres in Biggar, Maple Creek and Rosetown. Great Plains College was formed via a 2008 merger between Cypress Hills Regional College and Prairie West Regional College.
The college provides certificate, diploma and degree programs in a variety of fields and trades. Post-secondary offerings in 2015-16 include Administrative Assistant; Business; Bachelor of Social Work; Boom Truck, Crane &amp; Hoist Operator; Certificate in Health, Safety and Environmental Processes; Continuing Care Assistant; Diploma in Safety, Health and Environmental Management; Early Childhood Education; Electrician; Heavy Equipment Operator; Master of Business Administration in Community Economic Development; Power Engineering (Fourth Class and Third Class); Practical Nursing; Saskatchewan Collaborative Bachelor of Science in Nursing; Welding; and Youth Care Worker.

Student Associations

<ul>
	<li>In addition to Christmas parties, luncheons, candy-gram exchanges, and fundraisers, the student associations also organize neighborhood tree plantings and random acts of kindness throughout the year.</li>
	<li>It&#39;s a terrific opportunity to have fun and make new friends, whether you want to join a student association and take part in the planning or just drop by for one of the events.</li>

Health and Wellness

	<li>The health and dental coverage program for full-time students enrolled in qualifying programmes.</li>
	<li>The comprehensive approach includes myWellness, a mental health and wellness initiative that assists students in leading healthy lives while finishing their education.</li>
	<li>Through evaluations, group therapy, and crisis intervention programmes, students can get private mental health help.</li>

Sports and Wellness

	<li>The Great Plains SunDogs, a sports team from the Swift Current campus, participate in the Prairie Athletic Conference.</li>
	<li>In addition to basketball, they now play both men&#39;s and women&#39;s volleyball.</li>

Along with programme centres in Maple Creek, Biggar, and Rosetown, Great Plains College has campuses in Swift Current, Warman, and Kindersley.

Despite being a minor community, Swift Current offers a wide range of facilities.

	<li>If you&#39;re interested in folk festivals (long days and nights), community activities (blenders, kite festival), country music, hockey, baseball, drinking, farming, or any kind of rodeo, there are some things to do out here.</li>
	<li>Events are organised in the downtown area throughout the spring and summer since there is a strong feeling of community here (market square and sidewalk sale).</li>
	<li>Around here, there are various stunning locations, including Sask Landing, Cypress Hills, Lac Pelletier Lake, Eastend, and Maple Creek. suitable for outdoor activities like hiking and camping.</li>

Travel and Transportation&nbsp;

A direct bus to the city and return is available. The majority of locations in the city are reachable by foot. The bus is always an alternative if not.
