Northern College was founded during Ontario’s College system in 1967. It was founded as a part of provincial initiative to create institutions that provide various diploma and certificate courses.
First campus was Kirkland Campus then Porcupine campus, then Haileybury campus and Moosonee campus. It is a college of applied arts and technology in Northern Ontario. Facts: 1. The motto of the college is Your College. Your Community. 2. It has affiliations with CCAA, ACCC, AUCC. 3. It has partnerships with 10 Universities. 4. Annual enrolment is approximately 1500 full-time students. 5. It is home to Haileybury School of Mines, which was established in 1912 predates the college.

On-campus facilities: Students are provided with accommodation facilities on campus. They are allotted per discretion by school. Off-campus facilities: Students can seek accommodation out of the campus. They can go for rental apartments, duplexes or anything as per their comfort and budget.
