The University of Northern British Columbia formally came into existence on 22 june 1990 by Bill 40 of British Columbia legislature. It was officially opened in 1994 by Queen Elizabeth II. During its official opening it had 1500 students. The university got attention from the Northern Medical Program which was done in collaboration with the University of British Columbia.

On-campus facilities: The on campus accommodation at the University have the capacity of about 500 students and some of the facilities offered are: 1. Basic furniture with kitchen, living room and shared bathroom. 2. Wifi, common area for socializing, meal plan and laundry services. Off-campus facilities: The university recommends homestay for off campus housing as you'll learn about the Canadian culture. But if you want you can even have a private house. The facilities offered would vary but you can expect the basic facilities. Food facilities (Availability of vegetarian/Indian food): There are various food places to have vegan food in Prince George, some of which are: 1. Betulla Burning 2. Buskers 3. Cimo Mediterranean Grill 4. Earls Kitchen + Bar freshii Other than those, you can also shop for vegan ingredients to make your meal at home.

$10,000. Students must remain in satisfactory academic standing to maintain the scholarship and must be judged to be making satisfactory progress by submitting a Progress 
Report to the Office of Graduate Programs prior to renewal.
