Northern College was founded during Ontario’s College system in 1967. It was founded as a part of provincial initiative to create institutions that provide various diploma and certificate courses.
First campus was Kirkland Campus then Porcupine campus, then Haileybury campus and Moosonee campus. It is a college of applied arts and technology in Northern Ontario.
