You'd be surprised to know that Technological University Dublin has been 'formally' established just recently in 2019 but its origin lies back to 1187. Earlier called City of Dublin technical schools.
Later in the year 2014, the three institutions Institute of Technology, Blanchardstown (ITB), Dublin Institute of Technology (DIT), and Institute of Technology, Tallaght (ITT) decided to formally merge together to form a university.
